The world runs when the host is offline. Changes, updates and crashes get handled, and everyone is told what happened.

What happens if…
- an update breaks your mods?
- New game versions are tested on a copy of your world before yours is touched. Your owner gets a heads-up and decides.
- someone installs something bad?
- Every change starts with a checkpoint. Say "undo" and the owner approves going back. Nothing is overwritten. The current state is saved too.
- the server crashes at 2 AM?
- It restarts on its own, and you'll know why in the morning.
- the machine itself dies?
- Backups run every night and are stored away from the game server, so your world can be rebuilt somewhere else.
- you stop playing for a while?
- You can download your world anytime. If you leave, we keep it for 30 days so you can take it with you.
- you just want it back the way it was?
- You get 7 daily and 4 weekly backups, plus a backup before every change for 14 days.

Fair questions.
Is this an AI?
Campout's assistant does the setup, checks and fixes. During early access, a person double-checks every change before it touches your world.
Where do we talk to it?
In your group's own Discord: Campout joins a channel you create. The group owner can also handle approvals by text.
Can we bring the world we already have?
Usually, yes. For Minecraft, Valheim, Terraria and Factorio, send us your save and we'll move it over. Your original is never changed.
Do my friends need to install anything?
Only the game, plus the mods if you play modded. Their join page walks them through it with the exact versions your server uses.
Where are the servers?
On dedicated hardware in Virginia, US East. That works well for players across most of the US.
What if we stop playing?
Cancel anytime. You can download your world whenever you want, and we keep it for 30 days after you leave.
